The open-ended, interactive science-fiction adventure Fort Solis is set to launch for Xbox Series X|S on December 19. Publishers Feardemic and Dear Villagers, alongside developers Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games, confirmed the new release, which follows the game’s earlier debut on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on August 22, 2023.

Set on a remote mining facility on Mars, Fort Solis places players in the role of Jack, an engineer responding to a mysterious emergency signal from the isolated outpost. Upon arrival, he finds the base abandoned and shrouded in darkness, with a violent storm closing in and cutting off any immediate chance of escape. As the night stretches on, Jack must navigate the empty halls of the station, piecing together what happened to the missing crew while racing against time until morning arrives.
The experience emphasizes cinematic storytelling and immersion, unfolding across a single, tense night. Players uncover the narrative through environmental exploration, audio logs, and video recordings, gradually revealing the fate of Fort Solis and its inhabitants. The game’s presentation leans heavily on detailed environments and expressive character performances, supported by voice work from Roger Clark, Troy Baker, and Julia Brown, giving emotional weight to the unfolding mystery.
Designed to be experienced either in one continuous session or broken into episodic chapters, Fort Solis blends the pacing of a television drama with interactive exploration. With its arrival on Xbox Series X|S this December, the atmospheric sci-fi thriller will reach a wider console audience eager to uncover the secrets hidden within the Martian outpost.
