DaRmaZat Fast-paced, cinematic action game Saros will now launch for PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2026, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Housemarque have announced. The title was previously scheduled to release on March 20, 2026, with the delay intended to give the team additional time to fully realize its ambitious vision. Pre-orders for both the standard and Digital Deluxe editions are now available. A new pre-order trailer has been released, offering a fresh look at the game ahead of launch.
Set on the distant world of Carcosa, Saros follows the haunting story of a failed off-world colony trapped beneath a permanent eclipse. Players step into the role of Arjun Devraj, a relentless Soltari Enforcer searching for answers in a place shaped by loss, memory, and something far more sinister. The narrative places heavy emphasis on mystery and atmosphere, gradually unfolding through exploration, character encounters, and environmental storytelling.
Housemarque describes Saros as its most ambitious narrative project to date, supported by a large ensemble cast that brings depth and emotional weight to the world. Rahul Kohli portrays Arjun Devraj, joined by familiar voices such as Jane Perry, Ben Prendergast, David DeSantos, Adriyan Raye, and Shunori Ramanthan. Players will encounter these characters both in the Passage hub and throughout Carcosa itself, uncovering their stories through dialogue, hologram logs, and audio recordings.
True to the studio’s identity, the game blends its story-driven focus with signature high-intensity combat. The studio’s trademark “bullet ballet” returns, challenging players to survive against hostile Carcosan creatures while mastering fluid movement and precise gunplay. A newly revealed Parry mechanic allows well-timed deflections to reflect enemy projectiles, adding a tactical layer to the fast-paced encounters.
Players opting for the Digital Deluxe Edition will gain access to the game 48 hours ahead of launch, along with exclusive cosmetic content inspired by other PlayStation Studios franchises. All pre-orders also unlock the Hands of Shore Armor for Arjun. Housemarque notes that more details on gameplay systems, including eclipse escalation and progression mechanics, will be shared closer to release as development continues toward its new launch date.
