DaRmaZat IO Interactive has released a new trailer for 007 First Light, unveiling its central antagonist: The Pirate King Bawma, portrayed by Grammy Award–winning artist Lenny Kravitz. This marks Kravitz’s first major performance in a video game, providing both the physical likeness and voice of the character.
In a statement, Kravitz shared his enthusiasm for stepping into the James Bond universe. He described Bawma as a magnetic, unpredictable figure who balances danger with purpose, emphasizing the character’s rise to power and the personal struggle that defines him. IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak praised Kravitz’s performance, noting how his presence and charisma perfectly align with the vision for Bawma—a powerful figure capable of inspiring both fear and loyalty.
The new trailer, revealed during The Game Awards, features a tense standoff in which Bawma holds both James Bond and MI6 mentor John Greenway in a precarious situation while attempting to eliminate outside interference. As the leader of Aleph, a sprawling black-market arms network operating across the Western hemisphere, Bawma’s influence and reach are significant. By age 17, he had risen through the ranks of modern piracy, transforming a Mauritanian ship graveyard into the foundation of his empire.
Alongside the trailer, IO Interactive announced the 007 First Light Collector’s Edition. Priced at $199.99 / €199.99 / £169.99, it includes the full game, Deluxe Edition content, an Obsidian Gold Suit outfit, a wearable lifesize Mask Replica, a Certificate of Authenticity, and a Steel Case with Magnet.
The game will launch on March 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
