Nightscape, an Adventure Set in Ancient Arabia, Receives New Demo for Steam Next Fest

The atmospheric 2.5D adventure Nightscape is currently in development for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and players can now try an updated demo ahead of Steam Next Fest, which runs from February 23 to March 2. Developed and published by Mezan Studios, the game invites players into a world shaped by Arabian astronomy and myth. A release date for the full game has yet to be announced.

In Nightscape, players step into the role of Layla, a young stargazer searching for her missing father after a catastrophic event known as the Starfall caused the constellations to vanish from the sky. Accompanied by her loyal Goat Kid companion, Layla journeys through an ancient Arabian land where darkness has taken hold and the world has forgotten the names of the stars.

Nightscape‘s gameplay centers on constellation-based powers that allow Layla to manipulate the elements. Using a magical astrolabe, players can activate fallen stars and harness weather-controlling abilities such as summoning wind, calling down rain, or unleashing lightning to solve environmental puzzles.

Exploration unfolds across deserts, rocky cliffs, lush peninsulas, and volcanic regions inspired by Arabian landscapes, while combat encounters require skillful use of Layla’s bow to fend off dark creatures standing in her path.

The updated demo offers a refined look at the game’s blend of puzzle-solving, traversal, and combat, showcasing its distinctive 2.5D presentation and star-driven mechanics as it heads into Steam Next Fest.
