Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered Announced for PS4 & 5, Xbox One & Series, Switch, and PC

The action-adventure remaster Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered will launch on March 2 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG, Crystal Dynamics has announced.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered revisits the dark fantasy world of Nosgoth, placing players once again in control of both Kain and his former lieutenant Raziel. The narrative centers on their intertwined destinies, exploring themes of free will and fate as the two characters confront the consequences of their shared history.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered‘s gameplay retains the dual-protagonist structure of the original release, with Kain and Raziel offering distinct abilities and combat approaches. Armed with supernatural powers and signature blades, players progress through gothic environments that blend combat encounters with environmental puzzles and hidden narrative elements.

This remastered edition introduces updated high-definition visuals, refined controls, and a modernized camera system. Players can toggle between the enhanced presentation and the original version at any time. Additional features include a dedicated photo mode, alternate character skins inspired by series canon, a comprehensive lore reader, and previously unreleased content including so-called “lost levels” from the original game.
