DaRmaZat The retro-style gothic fantasy action RPG Hunt the Night will launch digitally on February 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, publisher DANGEN Entertainment and developer Moonlight Games have announced.
Physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, distributed by Selecta Play, are also planned for release this summer. Hunt the Night first debuted on PC via Steam and GOG on April 13, 2023. The console release brings the fast-paced action RPG to additional platforms, combining skill-driven combat with dark fantasy storytelling.
Set during the ninth age of humanity, the game follows Vesper, a member of the Stalkers, as she journeys across the ruined world of Medhram. Humanity’s long-standing cycle of destruction at the hands of the Night forms the backdrop of the narrative. After generations of struggle and the temporary salvation brought by the Seal of Night, darkness once again spreads across the land. As the daughter of a traitor, Vesper confronts both external horrors and personal turmoil while attempting to preserve what remains of humanity.
Gameplay emphasizes dynamic combat that allows players to transition quickly between melee and ranged attacks while using dark powers against enemies. Large-scale boss encounters require pattern recognition and strategic adaptation across multiple phases. Character progression centers on customizable builds, enabling players to tailor Vesper’s abilities and equipment to specific encounters.
Exploration plays a central role, with Medhram featuring expansive dungeons, environmental hazards, puzzles, and diverse locations ranging from ancient cathedrals to ruined floating cities. Players can undertake hunts as members of the Stalkers, pursue optional character questlines shaped by in-game decisions, and experience a dynamic soundtrack that includes contributions from Hiroki Kikuta, composer of Secret of Mana.
