DaRmaZat REPLACED, the cinematic action platformer from Sad Cat Studios and Thunderful Publishing, is set to launch on March 12, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Ahead of that release, the playable demo is now officially available.
For the first time, players can step directly into the dystopian world of REPLACED and experience its blend of narrative-driven exploration and stylish 2.5D combat. The demo offers an early look at the game’s retro-futuristic vision of an alternate 1980s America devastated by nuclear catastrophe.
Players assume the role of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence trapped inside a human body. In Phoenix-City, a corporate-controlled stronghold where corruption thrives and human life is commodified, R.E.A.C.H. must navigate a brutal urban landscape while uncovering the hidden agenda of the Phoenix Corporation and the truth behind their own creation.
The demo showcases the title’s fusion of cinematic storytelling, fluid platforming, reactive melee encounters, and ranged combat sequences. Its hand-crafted pixel art, enhanced by modern lighting effects and a synth-driven atmosphere, establishes the tone of a world defined by oppression, rebellion, and existential identity.
With the full release scheduled for March 12, this newly launched demo marks the first opportunity for players to directly experience the tone, mechanics, and narrative ambitions behind REPLACED.
