Resident Evil Requiem Reveals Leon S. Kennedy as Second Playable Protagonist

Capcom has unveiled a new look at Resident Evil Requiem, confirming that Leon S. Kennedy will join Grace Ashcroft as the game’s second playable protagonist. The upcoming entry in the long-running horror franchise is set to release on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

A newly released trailer highlights how both characters become entangled in a disturbing investigation involving a series of unexplained deaths. Leon’s arrival brings a more combat-driven edge to the narrative, while Grace’s tense investigative sequences lean into psychological and survival-focused horror. Their parallel storylines converge at an abandoned hotel—each following separate leads that appear to trace back to the truth behind the infamous 1998 Raccoon City Incident. The new trailer also showcases several major updates revealed at The Game Awards 2025. A special Resident Evil Showcase is planned for early 2026, with deeper looks at gameplay and narrative.

Leon receives a customized Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT as his in-game vehicle through a collaboration between Capcom and Porsche. The Deluxe Edition expands further with additional outfits for Leon, including Resident Evil 4, Apocalypse, and Film Noir, alongside new weapon charms. Recent announcements reaffirm pre-order bonuses, including Grace’s Apocalypse outfit, and detail the simultaneous release of Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on Switch 2. Additional extras include exclusive Fortnite collaboration items tied to Epic Games Store purchases, a themed Switch 2 Pro Controller, the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo featuring Grace, and a limited-run Premium Steelbook Edition.
