DaRmaZat Mega Man: Dual Override, the twelfth mainline entry in Capcom’s long-running action platformer series, has been officially announced and is scheduled to release in 2027 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch & Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Capcom describes the title as a full return of the classic Blue Bomber formula, introducing a new adventure built around familiar action, tight movement, and boss encounters. The publisher will also host a special community contest this month in which fans can design a new Robot Master to be featured in the game, offering players a rare opportunity to leave their mark on the franchise’s legacy.
The launch year will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Mega Man series. First released in 1987, the franchise quickly became one of Capcom’s most recognizable pillars thanks to its distinct characters, precise platforming, and energetic soundtrack. Over the decades, it has expanded beyond games into comics, animation, and other media, accumulating over 43 million units sold globally.
