Elden Ring: Nightreign Update 1.02 Adds Duo Mode and UI Enhancements, Launches July 30

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware will release the next major update for Elden Ring: Nightreign—version 1.02—on July 30, bringing with it the long-requested Duo Expeditions mode and a series of quality-of-life improvements to the user interface.

Until now, Nightreign allowed players to either face its brutal roguelike gauntlet alone or in a trio. Update 1.02 finally adds an official two-player mode, allowing duos to take on the game’s fast-paced boss battles and survival-focused expeditions—now fine-tuned for paired play.

In addition to the new mode, the update introduces expanded Relic filtering and other UI tweaks, making it easier for players to manage equipment and streamline progression. These changes are part of FromSoftware’s continued refinement of the Nightreign experience following the game’s strong reception.

Since launch, Elden Ring: Nightreign has sold over five million units, bolstered by its mix of battle royale structure, roguelike elements, and a “greatest hits” lineup of bosses drawn from Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series.
