A major free update titled Dracomundus Purgatory is now available for hack-and-slash title Dragonkin: The Banished, originally released in March 2026. The expansion introduces cross-play support alongside shared loot mechanics and the ability to transfer towns seamlessly between online and offline modes.

The centerpiece of the update is the Dracomundus Purgatory mode, an endgame challenge accessed through portals following hunts. This timed mode tasks you with clearing three randomly selected islands out of a pool of over fifty before time expires. Time can be extended by destroying draconic altars along the path before facing the Champion of Purgatory in a final boss encounter. The update also introduces Voracious Weapons, a new gear tier featuring unique passive skills, custom affix crafting, and sacrifice-based upgrading mechanics that tie into your Ancestral Grid.
Following its Early Access phase, the Dragonkin: The Banished launched on March 19 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 (US, NL), and Xbox Series X|S (US, NL).
