A new development update for SPINE, a single-player cinematic action game with Gun Fu-inspired combat, highlights how the project is entering its final production phase, with noticeable progress across both gameplay and narrative elements.

SPINE‘s combat continues to evolve into a faster and more brutal system while maintaining a fluid, choreography-driven style, shaped by ongoing iteration and community feedback. Outside of fights, the team is placing equal emphasis on storytelling through cutscenes, further developing characters such as Edda Kopp and introducing new figures like Malady, who is positioned as a more prominent and complex presence.
The world of Tensor City is also expanding in depth, presented not just as a backdrop but as a layered cyberpunk setting with distinct districts, social structures, and an omnipresent sense of control through propaganda. Inspirations drawn from action cinema remain deeply embedded in the experience, influencing both visual design and character creation. Altogether, these updates reinforce the game’s direction as a blend of cinematic presentation and stylized close-quarters combat, following Redline and her sentient implant Spine as they challenge an oppressive AI regime in a visually striking, near-future setting.
SPINE is currently in development for consoles and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with a release date yet to be announced.
