Developer and publisher Borealys Games has released an explosive new demo on Steam for Echoes of Mystralia, the highly anticipated roguelite action-RPG follow-up to Mages of Mystralia.

Set for a full release later this year, the title is currently in development for PC via Steam, where players can now get a first hands-on look at the evolved spellcrafting systems. This sequel shifts the franchise into a new roguelike direction, emphasizing rapid combat and deep magical customization within a narrative-rich world that changes with every run.
In Echoes of Mystralia, players step into the role of Mazarim, a Watcher dedicated to protecting the Cycle of Memories from a rift that threatens to consume the world. The gameplay revolves around a fluid combat system where “memories” serve as the primary resource for power. By gathering these memories, players can forge a completely unique arcane skillset, crafting everything from freezing tornadoes to fire vortices. With millions of potential combinations, the system allows for an expressive playstyle where players reorder and combine elements to watch their spells take shape in real-time.
The newly launched demo invites players to explore the Ash Forest, the game’s first biome. During this trial, Mazarim can unlock four powerful base spells and utilize fifty unique memories to transform his abilities as he tackles combat challenges and faces off against Therakan, the first primordial Guardian.
Between runs, players return to the Azimuth Temple, a sanctuary where they can upgrade permanent skills, interact with a millennia-old dragon, and build relationships with fellow watchers. This blend of tactical spell-building and intense boss encounters aims to deliver a fresh perspective on the mystical world of Mystralia.
