The Good Old Days Brings Retro Metroidvania Adventure to Nintendo Switch and PC This Fall
DaRmaZat Aksys Games has announced it will publish The Good Old Days, a retro-inspired Metroidvania action platformer developed by Yokogo Systems, for the Nintendo Switch this fall. A PC version will also be available on Steam. Created in collaboration with Gravity, the game invites players into a nostalgic journey set in the fictional city of Arostia.
In The Good Old Days, players take on the role of Sean, a young boy navigating the city’s underground to repay his father’s debt. As he explores the depths of Arostia, Sean must rescue imprisoned friends and uncover the means to settle what is owed, all while reliving themes of youthful dreams and lost time.
The game blends classic Metroidvania gameplay with emotional storytelling, rich in retro references and pop culture nods. Its design pays tribute to the spirit of past generations, promising a heartfelt adventure for fans of the genre.
