Valor Mortis, developed by One More Level and published by Lyrical Games, has unveiled a fresh look at its supernatural Napoleonic setting through a newly released story trailer ahead of its October 13 launch. Following a revised release date update, the single-player first-person Soulslike title prepares to take you through an alternate 19th-century Eastern Europe devastated by a mysterious plague.

The latest reveal gives a first look at several key figures introduced throughout the campaign, including rebel leader The Shrike, fellow soldier James Stewart, and lamplighter Lucjan Skawiński. Valor Mortis follows resurrected Legionnaire William Dowsett through a corrupted countryside where supernatural powers clash with historical warfare as an overarching conspiracy unfolds across Eastern Europe.
Combat in Valor Mortis shifts traditional Soulslike mechanics into a first-person perspective, requiring precise parries, swift dashes, and brutal finishing maneuvers across an array of period weapons. Unholy abilities gained from the virus allow you to harness corrupting energy and grow stronger with every death while battling the plague-mutated monsters of Napoleon’s Eternal Guard. Exploring the war-torn landscapes uncovers hidden environmental secrets, deepening the mystery surrounding the outbreak and William’s rebirth.
This dark historical adventure arrives October 13 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
