Publisher Fictions and developer Game Freak have released new narrative and mechanical details for their upcoming action-RPG, Beast of Reincarnation. Scheduled to launch on August 4, 2026, the title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, alongside a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.

The developers confirmed that the main protagonist, Emma, will be voiced by prominent actor Yui Ishikawa, leading a full Japanese voice cast that includes Miyuki Satou, Akio Otsuka, Sumire Morohoshi, Yu Kobayashi, Akira Ishida, Satoshi Mikami, Rina Satoh, and Tetsuo Kanao.
Beast of Reincarnation‘s overarching narrative focuses on heavy themes of identity, emotional discovery, and unlikely alliances. Emma begins her journey entirely devoid of her past memories and internal emotions. Driven by a desperation to comprehend what emotions actually are, she crosses paths with Coo – a companion creature belonging to a species that should naturally be her mortal enemy. Together, the duo embarks on a dangerous expedition across the world to uncover the truth behind Emma’s condition, culminating in a definitive conclusion that director Kota Furushima notes ties the story, art, sound, and technology into a singular experience.
In terms of real-time combat, the gameplay relies on active synergy between the two lead characters. You will control Emma directly, executing swift real-time sword combos and evasion maneuvers on the battlefield. Simultaneously, you must strategically command Coo, layering his specialized techniques and abilities over Emma’s physical strikes to create powerful combat combinations. This hybrid system aims to blend high-speed action with tactical micromanagement, forcing you to utilize both characters in tandem to overcome hostile forces throughout the journey.
