During the Xbox Games Showcase, publisher KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Team NINJA officially announced Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember. Serving as the direct sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty – which has reached over 5 million players globally – the dark fantasy action-RPG is actively in development and scheduled for a launch window in early 2027. The title is confirmed for a multiplatform release across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox PC, and PC via Steam. It will also launch as a day-one addition to the Xbox Game Pass library.

The announcement trailer offers an initial look at a campaign once again set during the volatile late Eastern Han dynasty. The narrative charts the rise of a phoenix from the ashes of conflict, following an unnamed warrior navigating sweeping battlefields plagued by rival warlords and supernatural monsters. Players will engage with the heroes of the Three Kingdoms era while mastering an updated, evolved Chinese martial arts combat loop to overcome demonic forces overrun across the historical landscape.
The title will feature full audio tracks in both English and Japanese, alongside localized interface text in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. To mark the announcement of the sequel, KOEI TECMO has returned the original Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, allowing subscribers to access the first entry immediately.
