CD PROJEKT RED has announced Songs of the Past, a surprise third expansion for its critically acclaimed role-playing game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio is co-developing the project with Fool’s Theory, a team composed of industry veterans who previously worked on the original game.

Scheduled to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the expansion will return players to the boots of legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia for a brand-new adventure.
Since its initial release in 2015, The Witcher 3 has sold over 60 million copies and secured more than 250 Game of the Year awards. While specific plot details remain under wraps, CD PROJEKT RED has confirmed that more information regarding Songs of the Past will be shared in late summer 2026.
To support the upcoming content, the system requirements for both The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Songs of the Past are being updated to ensure optimal performance and compatibility moving forward. These new specifications will go into effect with the next game update. Full details on the hardware changes can be found here: https://thewitcher.ly/NewRequirements
