The first footage of Subnautica 2 in action has finally surfaced, offering a long-awaited look at the gameplay mechanics and alien environments of the upcoming sequel, set to launch in Early Access on May 14.

Set on a brand-new alien world, the story follows the pioneers of the colony ship CICADA who find themselves stranded after a mission goes wrong. To survive, players must navigate breathtaking biomes and upgrade specialized tools to fend off towering new Leviathans while uncovering the mystery behind the ship’s insistent AI.
While the game remains a core single-player experience at its heart, this sequel introduces an optional online co-op mode for up to four players. Survivors can customize their underwater bases and traverse the crushing depths using the new Tadpole submersible.
Anticipation for the Early Access launch is high, with the entry priced at $29.99 USD. This one-time purchase grants access to the evolving project on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store – including day-one availability through Game Pass.
