Starfield is now available on PlayStation 5, Bethesda Game Studios has announced, marking the game’s debut on Sony’s platform. Alongside the release, all players gain access to the new Terran Armada story DLC and the free Free Lanes update. The game first released on Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.

The PlayStation 5 version introduces platform-specific enhancements, including support for adaptive triggers, the DualSense lightbar, and touchpad functionality. On PlayStation 5 Pro, players can choose between performance-focused and visual-focused modes, offering flexibility depending on preferred gameplay experience.
These additions represent the most significant update to Starfield since its original launch, positioning this release as the most complete version of the game to date.
The Terran Armada DLC expands the game with a new storyline set within the Settled Systems, introducing fresh missions, characters, locations, enemies, and rewards. Players will confront a rising robotic threat while influencing the future of humanity in space.
Meanwhile, the Free Lanes update delivers major gameplay improvements available to all players at no cost. The headline feature enables seamless interplanetary travel within star systems via a new cruise mode, allowing for dynamic encounters and deeper interaction with crew members during exploration.
Additional features introduced in the update include new points of interest and dungeons, the X-Tech upgrade resource, enhanced enemy modifiers, a new Moon Jumper vehicle, expanded outpost systems, additional crew members, and improvements tied to New Game+ progression.
With these updates, Starfield continues to evolve, offering both new and returning players a more expansive and refined spacefaring experience.
