The sci-fi deckbuilding turn-based adventure Echo Generation 2 has received a new gameplay trailer during The MIX & Kinda Funny Spring Game Showcase, while its playable demo is available throughout the week as part of Steam’s #TurnBasedThursdayFest. The game is scheduled to release this year Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

The newly revealed gameplay footage highlights more of the sequel’s tactical combat and atmospheric world. The trailer offers another look at the title’s distinct voxel-style presentation while showcasing how exploration and strategic encounters blend together within its mysterious science-fiction setting.
Alongside the trailer, the free demo can currently be played again on Steam as part of the week-long #TurnBasedThursdayFest celebration of turn-based titles. The demo was previously featured during Steam Next Fest and allows visitors to sample the opening segment of the adventure. Within the demo, the story begins with Sister M, a young girl with psychic abilities who finds herself imprisoned inside a secretive research facility operated by the shadowy organization FST. The scenario introduces exploration, narrative elements, and the game’s updated combat mechanics while uncovering fragments of the strange events surrounding the facility.
The sequel introduces a reworked battle system built around deckbuilding mechanics. More than one hundred collectible cards can be gathered to construct custom decks, enabling different strategies during encounters. Abilities can be chained together through combos, allies can be summoned to assist during fights, and powerful effects can turn the tide of battle.
Set after the events of the original game, Echo Generation 2 follows Jack, an ordinary father who becomes trapped in a strange dimension far beyond Maple Town. His search for a path back home leads through unfamiliar worlds filled with unusual allies, dangerous enemies, and hidden truths tied to the mystery of his missing years.
Like its predecessor, the sequel combines science-fiction themes with nostalgic influences inspired by films and games from the 1980s and 1990s. The adventure unfolds across handcrafted environments presented in developer Cococucumber’s signature voxel art style while narrative-driven quests and tactical encounters gradually reveal the larger story behind the strange cosmic forces at work.
