The co-op cosmic horror adventure The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will launch on July 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Developed by ACE Team and published by NACON, the experience centers on a cursed jungle expedition inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s mythos.

In The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, players take on the role of explorers from the Conquistador era who embark on perilous expeditions into a mysterious land in search of treasure, lost locations, and answers to unsettling mysteries. Each journey begins aboard a galleon where El Capitán assigns a contract to the crew, sending them into the depths of the jungle with clear objectives but no guarantees of survival.
Teams of up to four players must work together while exploring the island and collecting valuable riches. The environment constantly pushes players to move quickly, as the longer an expedition lasts the more hostile the surroundings become. Creatures lurking within the jungle grow increasingly aggressive, turning every mission into a race against escalating danger.
Survival in The Mound is not just about combat. Inventory space is limited and the explorers are equipped with relatively simple weapons, encouraging players to avoid unnecessary fights and focus on defensive tactics while navigating the hostile terrain. Careful coordination and quick decision-making are essential if the group hopes to return to their ship alive. If players manage to survive and return from their expedition, El Capitán rewards their efforts and prepares new contracts, sending them once again into the unknown in pursuit of wealth and forbidden discoveries.
Beyond the physical dangers, the island also assaults the explorers’ sanity. Exposure to cosmic horrors gradually drives characters toward madness, causing disturbing hallucinations that blur the line between reality and illusion. Teammates might suddenly appear as monstrous entities, harmless landscapes may reveal hidden death traps, and the environment itself can warp in terrifying ways.
