The psychological horror game Project Songbird is set to launch on March 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, publisher and developer FYRE Games has announced.

Developed by Conner Rush and FYRE Games, known for narrative-driven horror experiences such as Summerland and We Never Left, Project Songbird is presented as a first-person, cinematic psychological horror experience with a strong focus on atmosphere and storytelling. Players step into the role of Dakota, a professional musician struggling with writer’s block who retreats to a remote cabin in the Appalachian forest in hopes of completing a new album.
What begins as a creative escape gradually descends into a disturbing journey through fractured memories, surreal dreamscapes, and an increasingly hostile environment. Exploration of the natural surroundings is paired with moments of tension and survival, as Dakota is forced to confront both internal fears and external threats. Combat plays a supporting role through a mix of ranged and melee encounters, with upgradeable weapons offering limited means of defense.
The experience is designed to unfold over several hours, emphasizing narrative pacing and cinematic presentation. A permadeath system adds weight to each decision and encounter, while a fully voiced cast and an original dynamic soundtrack aim to reinforce the game’s unsettling tone as reality and nightmare begin to blur.
