The narrative-driven RPG The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign, with developer Schisma Games/101XP seeking community support to expand and refine the ambitious project. The game is in active development for PC and will eventually launch via Steam.

Positioned as a spiritual successor to The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the new project aims to significantly raise the bar in scope, complexity, and production values. Set in the world of the Blessed Arknian Empire, The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian continues the studio’s focus on choice-driven storytelling, philosophical themes, and branching narratives where decisions carry lasting consequences.
According to the developers, the current vision already exceeds their previous work in both narrative depth and systemic ambition, but several planned ideas and narrative directions could not be realized within the existing budget. The upcoming Kickstarter campaign is intended to unlock those additions, allowing the team to further deepen the game’s literary storytelling, moral choice systems, and overall cohesion. As soon as the campaign goes live, it will offer a closer look at the game’s development roadmap, including stretch goals, additional content plans, and backer rewards.
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative RPG set in the Blessed Arknian Empire, where birth determines one’s fate under the stern rule of the divine Twins. Players assume the role of Prince Jerian, tasked from childhood to navigate political intrigue, manage competing noble and clergy factions, and shape the nation’s future. Every choice carries weight, affecting the empire, its people, and Jerian’s own soul, as you balance ambition, duty, and morality in a world where law, power, and divine will intersect.
