Bloober Team has unveiled a new 10-minute gameplay showcase for Cronos: The New Dawn, its upcoming third-person survival horror game. Titled “Sector A-0”, the new footage offers a tense and atmospheric look at several of the game’s core systems, environments, and grotesque enemies, as well as its time-travel premise.

Set across distorted timelines and crumbling realities, Cronos: The New Dawn follows The Traveler, an agent from a dystopian future working for a shadowy organization known as the Collective. Tasked with rescuing individuals doomed to die in a collapsing timeline, The Traveler must navigate between two distinct eras—an eerie post-apocalyptic future and 1980s Poland, warped by temporal rifts and filled with deadly threats.
One of the game’s standout systems, known as the Merge mechanic, takes center stage in this new footage. Enemies—dubbed “The Orphans”—don’t always stay down. If their bodies aren’t burned quickly, they can be absorbed by nearby Orphans, resulting in a grotesque evolution into even more dangerous forms. These merged monstrosities gain new abilities and heightened aggression, creating escalating combat scenarios that demand quick thinking and environmental awareness.
The showcase also teases some of the game’s most unsettling environments, including Islands in The Mist—a liminal space cloaked in fog and uncertainty—and The Hospital, a claustrophobic nightmare filled with twisting corridors and echoes of a broken past. Each location blends psychological horror with physical threats, using limited visibility, distorted architecture, and eerie soundscapes to keep tension high.
The reveal ends with a glimpse of a boss encounter with an entity known only as “Terror,” offering a taste of the scale and brutality players can expect as they fight to survive a world disintegrating through time.
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to launch this fall for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
