Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced a major free update for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, set to launch on December 5. The update introduces a long-requested third-person perspective option as well as a New Game+ mode, offering both fresh ways to experience the open-world action-adventure game.

With the new third-person mode, players can explore Pandora from a different viewpoint. Whether soaring across the Western Frontier or engaging the RDA in combat, the new camera angle enhances immersion and scale. Ubisoft has adapted animations, audio, and controls to ensure the experience feels smooth and intuitive.
New Game+ gives returning players a reason to revisit the campaign. The mode allows players to replay the story while retaining previously unlocked skills and inventory. Enemies are tougher, and new skill trees and gear add depth and challenge to each run. However, story expansion content will remain inaccessible in New Game+.
The update follows the release of two post-launch story packs—The Sky Breaker, which featured the great Na’vi games and Zakru migration, and Secrets of the Spires, a mountainous region expanding the thrill of banshee traversal. Quality-of-life updates have also steadily improved the experience since launch, with a refined Hunter’s Guide, improved framerate stability, and combat balance tweaks.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via the Ubisoft Store, and Amazon Luna.
