StarRupture is opening its gates for the first time, offering players a chance to experience the upcoming open-world survival game during its closed Steam playtest from July 29 to July 31. The playtest focuses on single-player content and aims to give early explorers a solid taste of what’s to come when the game launches into Early Access this fall.
Starting today, players can join the StarRupture closed playtest by heading to the Steam page and click “Request Access.” Play sessions are unlimited during the test window, and feedback from this round will directly shape the game ahead of its official Early Access debut. Those selected will receive a confirmation from Steam before the test begins. No key needed—access is added to your account automatically.
The test offers over three hours of guided and freeform content, covering roughly 15% of the full Early Access map. Some features, like wildlife, advanced weapons, base defense events, and high-level corporate missions, will be locked for now to avoid spoilers and keep the full experience fresh at launch.
While StarRupture is designed as a co-op experience for up to four players, this first test is all about solo gameplay. The goal is to polish early systems, test stability, and gather feedback on balance, progression, and performance. Players will explore a dangerous stretch of Arcadia-7, build industrial bases, mine for resources, and fight off alien threats—all without the safety net of friends.
No NDA is in place, so players are encouraged to share their experience—screenshots, videos, memes, and feedback are welcome. The test supports English audio and UI for now, with full localization coming later.
