A cinematic reveal, a KoЯn collaboration, and, of course, multiple pre-launch updates.
As the path toward launch continues, Blizzard Entertainment is expanding the final chapter of Diablo IV with a wave of new reveals for Lord of Hatred, the upcoming expansion set to arrive on April 28 across PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Battle.net.

The latest Diablo IV updates span narrative, gameplay, music, and hardware collaborations, all building toward the final confrontation with Mephisto’s influence over Sanctuary.
At the center of the rollout is the impressive opening cinematic, which frames Neyrelle’s direct confrontation with the Lord of Hatred as corruption spreads further across Sanctuary. The sequence sets a darker tone for the expansion’s story arc, reinforcing Mephisto’s growing presence and the escalating consequences of past choices.
Alongside this, Blizzard’s developer livestream offered a broader breakdown of what’s ahead, touching on endgame systems, community-driven challenges, and the structural changes arriving with the expansion’s release.
Naturally, pre-launch preparation is also accelerating now, with pre-download access opening on April 23 at 13:00 CEST | 16:00 PDT across supported platforms. This allows you to preload Lord of Hatred ahead of release, ensuring immediate access once servers go live.
The rollout is positioned alongside a wider content push, including a newly released original track, “Reward the Scars”, created by KoЯn as a thematic companion piece to the expansion. The collaboration extends further with Jackson Guitars, which introduces a limited-edition Diablo IV-themed instrument inspired by Mephisto’s iconography.
