DaRmaZat Paper Cult has released a free demo for its upcoming medieval co-op roguelike Tears of Metal. The demo is available now on Steam and will remain accessible throughout Steam Next Fest. The full game is set to launch later this year.
The demo allows players to march through the first act, culminating in a showdown with Gilles the Hog. Whether fighting alone or in four-player co-op, players can experiment with powers drawn from four clans of Emblems, unlock dozens of charms, and strengthen both their heroes and battalion through weapons, trinkets, skins, and more. A new Hazard and Threat system, shrines, unlocks, and daily challenges add depth and replayability, while quality-of-life updates and hidden secrets keep returning warriors engaged.
Set against the backdrop of a Scottish island under siege, Tears of Metal combines hack-and-slash combat with roguelike progression. As players battle through hordes of invaders and uncover the secrets of the Dragon Meteor, they can rally Scottish troops, upgrade their settlement, and develop new strategies with every run. The result is a mix of chaotic action, strategic upgrades, and the constant promise of discovery.
