DaRmaZat Nesting Games has released a free demo for its upcoming third-person action RPG Directorate: Novitiate as part of Steam Next Fest, where it will remain available until October 20. The game will arrive in Early Access via Steam, with a release date still to be announced.
The demo offers a first taste of Mercury’s arsenal, blending fast-paced gunplay with devastating magic. Players can chain together Gun Katas, customize loadouts with spells and artifacts, and decide how their actions influence the looming Syndicate war. Alongside its action, the game promises branching choices, complex relationships, and a high-stakes mystery surrounding a supernatural serial killer.
Set in 2006 Los Angeles, the story follows Kana Luna, better known under her codename Mercury, as she descends into the supernatural underworld of the Directorate. By night, players take on Syndicate killers, experiment with spell-slinging combat, and unravel the mysteries of a deadly Fold bleeding into the city. By day, Mercury must navigate personal struggles and difficult choices that threaten to blur the line between her two lives.
