SEGA has announced that a free single-player demo of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, which will go live on September 16 at 9:00 p.m. PT / September 17 at 12:00 a.m. ET / 5:00 a.m. BST / 6:00 a.m. CEST / 13:00 JST across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.. The demo will not release for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

The demo provides players with an early look at the high-speed action before the full release later this month. Unlike previous network stress tests, this version will be focused entirely on single-player gameplay. Players should note that, even when racing solo, the game requires a constant internet connection and also makes use of Denuvo anti-tamper technology.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches worldwide on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version following later this holiday season. The title is Steam Deck Verified and features the largest roster in the series’ history, with 23 playable Sonic characters. Players can race across 24 tracks and warp into 15 CrossWorlds using the unique Travel Rings mechanic, shifting dimensions mid-race to change the outcome.
Those who pre-order will unlock the playable character Werehog, his “Beast Spike” vehicle, and a special decal, while the Deluxe Edition also offers three days of early access and additional extras.
