Knights of the Fall, a new science-fiction 2D/3D hybrid platformer, has been announced by publisher Bohemia Interactive and developer Airo Games. The title is in development for PC via Steam, though a release date has not yet been confirmed.

Set against an alternate history, the story follows Haru, a battle-hardened veteran, and Yoshida, a former scientist, as they explore the strange link between interdimensional travel and the afterlife. Their journey begins decades after the ignition of a zero-point reactor in 1986 tore open a gateway to another dimension, unleashing alien forces on Earth and forever altering the course of human survival.
The game combines cinematic 2D and 3D presentation with fast-paced, tactical combat. Players will wield gravity- and time-bending technology to manipulate enemies and environments, turning limited resources into an advantage in battles against both regular foes and formidable bosses. Exploration plays an equal role, with ruined cities, abandoned labs, and warped anomalies offering hidden lore, scattered memories, and traversal challenges.
With its hand-painted visuals, immersive storytelling, and cinematic score, Knights of the Fall aims to deliver a post-apocalyptic atmosphere rooted in mystery and survival.
