Capcom has debuted a new trailer titled “Severing Fates” for its upcoming swordplay action game Onimusha: Way of the Sword, scheduled to launch on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

The latest trailer focuses on real-world landmarks in Kyoto, specifically showcasing the Yasui Konpiragu Shrine. In the game’s dark fantasy setting, protagonist Musashi Miyamoto visits the location – traditionally known for severing connecting threads of fate – only to discover a twisted entity preying on innocent wishmakers.
In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Musashi explores Kyoto and its hidden depths, including secret underground laboratories containing the Genma experiments of the enigmatic Dokyo. To combat corrupted hostiles and chimeric beasts, players wield classic series abilities like Issen counterattacks and Soul Absorption alongside new swordplay mechanics, including deflections, timed parries, and a power-boosting Blazing State.
A playable demo is currently available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles.
