Gears of War: E-Day Premieres Multiplayer Trailer Ahead of August 6 Early Access Open Beta

Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer The Coalition have released the official multiplayer reveal trailer for Gears of War: E-Day. Set to a soundtrack by Metallica, the fresh footage showcases the return of classic player-versus-player (PvP) Versus modes alongside a massive new player-versus-environment (PvE) experience.

The headline addition is Horde Siege, an ambitious 12-player evolution of the series’ signature Horde mode. Taking place across the largest multiplayer maps in franchise history, the mode deploys three distinct four-player squads on individual objectives across a shared map, creating dynamic and unpredictable battles. Meanwhile, standard Versus gameplay returns with upgraded movement mechanics designed for clutch plays across four distinct match modes.

Players can get hands-on experience ahead of launch via the Early Access Open Beta, which kicks off August 6 for those who pre-order on Xbox Series X|S or Steam, as well as active Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.

Gears of War: E-Day will officially launch on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, alongside a day-one release on Game Pass.
