Capcom has officially announced Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen, a massive upcoming expansion and complete-edition bundle for its hit fantasy action-RPG. Scheduled to launch globally on October 9, 2026, the release will bring the high-octane franchise to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the very first time. For existing players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the new narrative and mechanical content will be available to purchase separately as downloadable content, while newcomers across all platforms can grab the complete packaged bundle.

The narrative arc of the expansion ventures away from the core kingdoms, calling the Arisen to an isolated, long-forsaken northern landscape known as Norgan. Alongside a mysterious new ally named Eir, players must investigate a looming threat surrounding the undying Fallen Dragon. Survival in this unforgiving territory relies heavily on unearthing and appraising lost relics scattered across the wilderness, which systematically unlock powerful high-tier weapons and combat skills.
To test player build limits, the expansion introduces the Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges – a set of 12 handcrafted, trial-focused gauntlets devised by the Pathfinder. Conquering these gauntlets yields dormant, rare equipment originally wielded by historical Arisen. Character customization is also receiving a boost, introducing new hairstyles and tattoos to the game’s robust creation suite.
To prepare the player base for the upcoming expansion, Capcom outlined a roadmap featuring two substantial quality-of-life updates for the base game. The first patch, dropping today on June 9, significantly streamlines world traversal by introducing a reusable Eternal Ferrystone alongside general mechanical tweaks. A second major performance patch is scheduled for the end of August 2026, which promises to deliver optimized frame rates, highly requested additional save slots, and further structural refinements based on community feedback.
