US-based indie developer Scary Kid Studios, alongside publisher Digital Pajamas, has officially announced the release date for Don’t Fret, an upcoming first-person psychological action horror game. Set within a surreal, music-themed nightmare, the title is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam on October 1, 2026. A Steam demo is currently available.

The narrative traps you inside a twisted, nightmarish musical school where sound itself is your greatest adversary. In this psychological playground, every unintended noise, twang, plunk, or plink awakens deeply warped musical beings that will ruthlessly hunt you down. As you navigate the terrifying corridors to uncover the truth behind the school and your own fractured reality, you are forced to confront a deeply disturbing question: why are you just as physically and mentally warped as the monsters hunting you?
Don’t Fret‘s gameplay relies heavily on sound mechanics, stealth, and puzzle-solving. Because every sound you make puts another enemy on your tail, you must carefully choose when to hide, how to distract incoming threats, and when to fight back.
You are equipped with a specialized guitar tuner, which serves as your primary tool to stun warped musical enemies and manipulate environmental puzzles. Throughout your escape attempt, you will have to experiment with the mechanical depths of your own guitar form to unearth the psychological horrors buried deep within the school.
