Publisher SEGA and developer Creative Assembly have officially announced Alien: Isolation 2, the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed 2014 survival-horror masterpiece. Developed by Creative Assembly’s dedicated Survival team under the guidance of Creative Director Al Hope, the next-generation horror first-person shooter is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. While the announcement has sent shockwaves through the horror community, a definitive release date has not yet been disclosed.

Alien: Isolation 2 shifts focus away from the original game’s setting to introduce an entirely brand-new environment, narrative, and protagonist. The sequel takes place on a remote, storm-ravaged colony world, forcing players to brave harsh environmental elements while navigating the planet’s surface. At the heart of the nightmare is Kurosaki Station, a claustrophobic Weyland-Yutani outpost that serves as the Xenomorph’s new, deadly hunting ground.
According to the development team, the sequel aims to deliver an evolved survival experience that significantly ups the ante from its predecessor. Players can expect a smarter, more adaptive titular killer, a much harsher environment, and slimmer odds of survival. To endure this high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse, players will be forced to improvise, scavenge resources, and craft an entirely new arsenal of tools, techniques, and survival tactics to evade cinema’s deadliest apex predator.
