Nintendo has released a comprehensive seven-minute overview trailer for its upcoming Star Fox reimagining, built from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch 2. The title is scheduled to launch on June 25, with pre-orders now available on the Nintendo eShop.

The overview trailer highlights major additions to the game’s core structures, starting with a Campaign Mode that retains branching planetary pathways while adding a novel cooperative multiplayer format. Via local play or online GameShare, two players can control a single Arwing vehicle, splitting duties seamlessly between a dedicated Pilot and a Gunner. The aiming system has been updated to support a new Mouse-Controlled Targeting mode using the Joy-Con 2 controller. Clearing campaign stages unlocks a new standalone Challenge Mode, introducing specialized secondary objectives and high-score trials across previously conquered maps.
The game’s online architecture relies heavily on Nintendo’s newly detailed GameShare and GameChat systems. The competitive Battle Mode supports eight-player online lobbies for four-versus-four dogfights, alongside a local four-player mode that requires only a single retail copy of the game via GameShare. Furthermore, players utilizing a compatible USB camera can activate an interactive feature within GameChat, allowing them to broadcast real-time facial expressions mapped directly onto animated avatars of the Star Fox crew.
Ahead of the June launch, Nintendo has also added a curated 10-track selection from the game’s soundtrack to the Nintendo Music application, featuring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and automated play-history playlist generation.
