Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has announced that Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is scheduled to launch on August 28, 2026. The sequel will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, expanding the arcade soccer series with new narrative arcs and international competition.

The campaign follows Tsubasa Ozora and the Japanese national youth team as they progress through the Asian Youth Championship toward the World Youth Championship.
Players will face off against a variety of international rivals, including qualifying rounds against Thailand and Saudi Arabia, leading into high-stakes matches against global powerhouses such as Brazil, Argentina, and the Netherlands. The gameplay emphasizes a clash of “football philosophies”, requiring tactical precision and the series’ signature special moves to overcome physically dominant opponents.
Pre-orders for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters have opened across all platforms, offering bonuses such as the 2026 Japanese National Team jersey and early character unlocks. Digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions have also been detailed, which include a Season Pass featuring three upcoming DLC Character Packs and various cosmetic customization items.
