Action adventure survival town builder Romestead launches in Early Access on May 28 for PC via Steam.

Set in a fallen version of Rome, Romestead places players in a world devastated by an apocalyptic event that has turned its former citizens into relentless undead threats. Survival becomes a constant concern, especially as night falls and hostile forces begin to roam, pushing players to fortify their settlements and prepare defenses.
Rebuilding civilization sits at the core of the experience. Establishing a functional settlement involves constructing essential structures such as blacksmiths, farms, and crafting facilities, while managing the well-being of inhabitants. Expansion into new territories gradually unlocks additional resources and opportunities, shaping the growth of the settlement over time.
The game introduces a hands-on approach to resource management, where materials are physically handled rather than stored in traditional inventory systems. This design ties directly into both construction and combat, allowing quick interactions with the environment when under pressure. Progression is further supported by RPG systems, offering a wide range of equipment, consumables, and skill-based upgrades that influence playstyle.
A unique layer is added through Romestead‘s deity system, where players decide which gods to restore by offering sacrifices. Each choice impacts available bonuses and technologies, adding a strategic dimension to long-term development. Exploration extends across a procedurally generated world filled with diverse biomes, hidden locations, and challenges.
Cooperative elements also play a role, particularly when tackling dungeons and boss encounters. These areas combine combat with environmental puzzles, encouraging coordination and varied character builds to overcome tougher threats scattered throughout the world.
