Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, a first-person single-player action RPG set in the World of Darkness universe, is set to release in summer 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

Revealed during the Xbox Partner Showcase, the game marks the return of the Hunter: The Reckoning franchise, bringing players into a modern-day New York where supernatural creatures operate in secrecy among an unaware population. Players take on the role of a Hunter, an ordinary human who has uncovered the hidden truth and chosen to fight back against entities such as vampires and werewolves.
Exploration plays a central role, with an expanded version of New York serving as the main setting. Players can approach investigations at their own pace, uncovering clues and side activities that provide advantages against increasingly dangerous enemies. Character customization draws inspiration from the original tabletop RPG, allowing players to shape their Hunter’s abilities and approach.
Combat offers flexibility in how encounters are handled, whether through direct confrontation, stealth, or tactical planning. A wide range of melee and ranged weapons supports different playstyles, while preparation becomes essential when facing powerful foes in their own territories.
Throughout the campaign, players are joined by a group of companions, each with distinct personalities and backstories. These relationships can evolve over time, with choices influencing both narrative outcomes and interpersonal dynamics. Decisions made during missions and dialogue sequences impact the overall story, affecting alliances, reputation, and even how external forces such as law enforcement respond.
