Square Enix has launched Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. The digital release supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing for cross-platform play within the Xbox ecosystem. To celebrate the launch, the game is available with a 20 percent discount on Steam and Xbox, and players who purchase the game will receive a digital artbook accessible through the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer.

Originally launched last year on Nintendo Switch 2, the HD remaster brings the classic adventure in the world of Luxendarc to new platforms with updated visuals, quality-of-life improvements, and additional mini-games. The title is also compatible with handheld PC devices such as the Steam Deck and ROG Xbox Ally.
The story takes place in the world of Luxendarc, where four elemental crystals maintain balance across the land. When a mysterious chasm appears and dark forces begin to emerge, players follow the Warriors of Light—including Agnès Oblige, Tiz Arrior, Edea Lee, and Ringabel—alongside the cryst-fairy Airy to restore the crystals and save the world.
Combat revolves around the series’ signature Brave & Default battle system, which allows players to spend Brave Points to perform multiple actions in a single turn or defend with Default to store points for later. The game also features a job system with more than 20 classes, enabling players to customize party strategies by mixing abilities and roles.
The remaster retains the original turn-based structure while adding improvements such as battle speed adjustments and gameplay refinements, accompanied by a soundtrack composed by Revo and character designs by Akihiko Yoshida.
