Developer INTERSTUDIO has revealed that its upcoming RPG The Vernyhorn will launch with support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing, enabling high-end visuals while maintaining strong performance on modern RTX hardware, as recently demonstrated during NVIDIA’s GeForce ON community update at GDC 2026.

The announcement highlights a new collaboration with NVIDIA aimed at supporting the game’s ambitious visual goals. The studio has been using extensive photogrammetry scans of real-world landscapes and historical architecture to recreate dense forests, medieval structures, and natural environments inspired by Slavic regions. This level of geometric density and environmental detail makes advanced rendering technology essential for stable performance.
With DLSS 4.5, players will be able to explore the game’s atmospheric open world in high resolutions such as 4K while maintaining smooth frame rates, even during large-scale scenes filled with detailed assets and complex lighting. Ray tracing will further enhance the realism of environments through more accurate lighting, reflections, and shadows. The studio also demonstrated that early builds of the game already run at stable performance levels on hardware such as the RTX 4070, suggesting that optimization remains a core focus as development continues.
The Vernyhorn was previously introduced as a third-person open-world RPG inspired by classic role-playing games like Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and The Witcher. The project focuses on a narrative-driven experience set in a harsh medieval world shaped by faith, survival, and personal choices.
The developers are aiming for a dense, atmospheric world rather than sheer scale, combining scanned environments, dynamic weather systems, and realistic combat captured through motion capture with professional martial artists. The Vernyhorn currently has no announced release date and is set to release for PC on Steam.
