The classic first-person shooter SiN: Reloaded, a remastered version of the 1998 cult shooter, is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The revived project comes from publishers 3D Realms and Nightdive Studios, with development handled by Nightdive Studios alongside Slipgate Ironworks and original studio Ritual Entertainment.

Originally released in the late 1990s, SiN stood out for its story-driven approach and ambitious level interactivity. The game places players in the role of security consultant Colonel John R. Blade, who is tasked with stopping the dangerous ambitions of Doctor Elexis Sinclaire, the powerful CEO of SinTEK Industries. When Sinclaire unleashes a DNA-altering drug across the city, turning civilians into grotesque mutants, Blade must take the fight directly to her organization and dismantle her growing army.
Set in a dystopian near-future, the campaign blends intense gunplay with environmental interaction. The original title gained attention for allowing players to manipulate the world in ways that were uncommon at the time, including hacking computer terminals using DOS-style commands, operating security systems, and interacting with vehicles such as forklifts, patrol boats, and even helicopters. Player actions could also affect how events unfolded during missions, introducing branching paths and reactive encounters.
The new SiN: Reloaded edition rebuilds the experience using Nightdive Studios’ KEX Engine to ensure compatibility with modern hardware. Visuals have been upgraded with remastered textures and improved models, while the interface and controls have been redesigned to better suit contemporary platforms. Players will also be able to switch between the remastered presentation and the original SiN Gold version, preserving the classic look for those who prefer it.
Alongside the main campaign, the release includes the SiN: Wages of Sin expansion pack. This additional storyline pits Blade against a ruthless mafia boss who commands a new wave of genetically enhanced enemies. The entire package benefits from updated maps, refined presentation, and a higher-resolution version of the original soundtrack composed by Zak Belica and newly mixed by Chris Mock.
