IO Interactive has released a new developer diary for 007 First Light, offering a closer look at the characters and performers who help bring the upcoming spy adventure to life. The game is scheduled to release on May 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The second episode in the “Beyond the Light” developer diary series focuses on the narrative and character work behind the game. Members of the development team discuss how the studio is translating the iconic spy world into a modern interactive experience while building a cast that reflects the tone and personality of the story.
The episode features insights from Martin Emborg, Narrative & Cinematic Director on the project, and Beatrice Harty, Lead and Senior Character Artist. Both explain how narrative design and character modeling work together to create believable personalities and performances within the game.
Two actors from the game’s cast also appear in the episode. Kiera Lester discusses her portrayal of the classic Bond character Miss Moneypenny, while Alastair Mackenzie shares insight into voicing Q, the legendary gadget master from the Bond universe.
The developer diary gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the studio approaches performance capture, character design, and narrative direction as it builds a new interactive story set in the world of James Bond.
