Teen Adventure Mixtape Launches May 7 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC

Teenage adventure game Mixtape will release on May 7 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, with the Switch 2 version newly announced.

Published by Annapurna Interactive and developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur, the studio behind The Artful Escape, Mixtape centers on three friends spending their final night of high school together. What begins as a trip to one last party transforms into a playable collection of memories, triggered by a carefully curated playlist that pulls them into stylized reenactments of defining moments from their adolescence.

Structured as a series of narrative vignettes, the game blends interactive sequences with cinematic storytelling. Players skateboard through quiet streets, soar through dreamlike spaces, snap photos in abandoned locations, take swings at baseballs, and stage improvised fireworks displays from the backseat of a car. Each scenario reflects a different emotional milestone, from first romances to bittersweet goodbyes, capturing both the exuberance and uncertainty of growing up.

Drawing inspiration from classic coming-of-age films, Mixtape leans into nostalgia, youthful rebellion, and the shifting dynamics of friendship on the brink of adulthood. Its atmosphere is reinforced by a licensed soundtrack featuring artists such as DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Joy Division, underscoring the game’s focus on music as a narrative and emotional anchor.
