Developer Refinery Games has officially unveiled 2112TD: Earth, the sequel to its sci-fi tower defense title 2112TD. The announcement is accompanied by a debut gameplay trailer and the launch of the official Steam store page.

Set after the events of the original, 2112TD: Earth shifts the conflict from off-world battlefields to humanity’s home planet. The shattered remains of the Fleshomorph mothership—known as “the Carrier”—now hang in Earth’s orbit, spreading corruption and unleashing bio-organic monstrosities across the globe. Players assume command of the planet’s remaining defensive forces in a large-scale campaign to halt the invasion.
The sequel introduces a brand-new 18-mission global campaign, spanning devastated urban centers, fortified research compounds, and other strategically vital locations. Enemy design has been expanded significantly, with grotesque flesh-based horrors now featuring layered defensive systems such as bone armor and psionic shields. Tactical weapon selection becomes critical, as players must first strip away outer defenses before destroying vulnerable organic cores.
Between missions, players can unlock hundreds of research upgrades to enhance turret performance, drone systems, and defensive capabilities. Field blueprints discovered during deployments further expand tactical options. Combat presentation has also been intensified, with an enhanced gore and damage system enabling high-impact weapons to visibly dismantle enemies.
Multiple difficulty settings—Normal, Hard, and Nightmare—allow players to tailor the campaign challenge, while an Endless Survival Mode offers escalating wave-based encounters for high-score pursuits. A mastery system tied to weapon proficiency unlocks advanced upgrades and achievements.
2112TD: Earth is in development for Android, iOS, PC, and Steam Deck. A release date has yet to be announced.
