DaRmaZat The action RPG Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition is set to release worldwide on Nintendo Switch 2 on May 22, expanding the acclaimed entry in Bandai Namco’s long-running series to Nintendo’s new platform.
Originally launched in 2021 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Tales of Arise marked a major evolution for the franchise with its modern presentation and fast-paced combat. The Beyond the Dawn Edition bundles the base game with its narrative expansion, which first became available in 2023, offering the complete experience in a single package for Switch 2 players.
In Tales of Arise, players follow Alphen and Shionne as they fight to liberate the planet Dahna after centuries of oppression by the technologically advanced world of Rena. The story centers on two individuals from opposing worlds whose fates become intertwined, leading to a journey that blends personal struggle with large-scale conflict. Exploration across diverse regions, real-time action combat, and a strong focus on character-driven storytelling form the core of the experience.
The Beyond the Dawn expansion continues the narrative one year after the events of the main story, introducing new areas, additional characters, and an extended storyline that explores the fragile aftermath of Dahna’s liberation. With more than 20 hours of additional content, the expansion deepens the themes of coexistence and reconciliation between Renans and Dahnans while offering fresh challenges and battles.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version brings this complete edition to a new audience, allowing players to experience both the original adventure and its story-driven expansion on the platform for the first time. While the game launches in Japan on May 21, the worldwide release follows on May 22.
