Open-world racing game Forza Horizon 6 will launch on May 19, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, with a PlayStation 5 version scheduled to follow later in 2026. The announcement was confirmed by publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Playground Games, with the title also launching day one on Game Pass.

Set in Japan for the first time in the series, Forza Horizon 6 places players at the heart of the Horizon Festival across a large-scale map blending dense urban environments with mountainous regions and coastal areas. Rather than starting as an established racing star, players begin their journey as a tourist, gradually earning their way into the Festival and rising through its ranks while discovering Japanese car culture, landmarks, and hidden routes.
The game features more than 550 real-world vehicles at launch, ranging from classic JDM icons to modern performance cars, including the 2025 GR GT Prototype. Exploration plays a larger role than ever, supported by new systems such as the Collection Journal, customizable player homes, and a large buildable Estate area inspired by rural Japanese properties. Multiplayer remains a core pillar, with Car Meets, cooperative racing, and expanded EventLab tools allowing players to create and share custom events across the entire map.
Alongside the standard release, a Premium Edition will be available, granting four days of early access starting May 15 and including post-launch expansions, car packs, and additional in-game content. Playground Games also emphasized accessibility improvements and a broad range of difficulty and assist options, aiming to make this the most approachable entry in the Horizon series to date.
