Starhelm Studios has released a new devlog gameplay trailer for Project Shadowglass, a stealth-driven immersive sim with dark fantasy RPG elements planned for consoles and PC via Steam, with a release date yet to be announced. Premiered during New Game Showcase 2026, the video highlights several of the upcoming game’s core systemic mechanics.

The trailer places particular emphasis on simulated 3D spatial audio, reinforcing how sound plays a central role in both stealth and survival. Footsteps react to different surfaces, distant noises carry positional weight, and enemy awareness is shaped by what they hear as much as what they see. This audio-driven design ties directly into the game’s shadow-and-light detection, where darkness offers safety but careless movement can quickly give a thief away.
Archery is another standout system showcased, featuring physics-based projectiles that demand careful aim and spatial awareness. Combined with climbing, mantling, and vertical level design, encounters often unfold across multiple layers, rewarding patience and planning over brute force. A dynamic day and night cycle further alters infiltration routes and enemy behavior, reinforcing the idea that timing is as important as preparation.
Set within a brooding fantasy kingdom defined by inequality and oppression, Project Shadowglass casts players as a lone thief pulling off dangerous heists for an unknown patron. Inspired by classics such as Thief, Deus Ex, and System Shock, the game blends systemic stealth with a distinctive 3D pixel art style, where every action can leave consequences that ripple through the world.
